SDCC have awarded Brittas Community Association grants towards the installation of a new front door and two safety doors and money towards the running costs of the community centre.
June 2014:-
The BBQ held on Friday 20th was a a great success due to the large turnout of residents and good weather!
Thanks to everyone that supported the event, all proceeds will go towards the annual running costs of the centre that exceed €3,000 p.a.
May 2014:-
A very big thank you to Geraldine O Neill in the community section of SDCC who has progressed our application for a €3k grant to complete the riverside railings. This was approved today (7th) and the work is expected to be completed before the end of this month.
April 2014:-
1.Easter craft afternoon was very well supported - thanks to everyone that attended, and well done to all the prize winners
2.The car park area has been re surfaced, and we have a new light on the Brittas stone. We also have a new car park light that will make the area safer to cross during any evening events in the future. Big thanks to all the workers involved.

January 2014:-
- Thanks to all the residents that supported the Valentine's social evening on Feb 14th
- Thanks to Stresslite Ltd Blessington road who are providing the concrete plinth free of charge for the new walkway over the river by the centre which should be completed by March
- Thanks also to the community section of SDCC we have received €200 from the Mayors fund towards the cost of a bench to be placed in the community centre garden.
December 2013:-
- Santa and his sleigh arrived to a terrific welcome from all the children in the Brittas district. 161 children visited Santa in his grotto this year.Blue bear also entertained everyone while they queue. Special thanks to Santa for giving us his time during his busy season. Another big thank you to Lisheen Springs staff who made us very welcome and allowed us to take over for the afternoon!
- Dec 5th Christmas floral evening - thanks to Enda for a fun filled demonstration and to everyone that attended.Hopefully we can put what we were shown into practice!
- Many thanks to Ann Louise Gilligan who has kindly donated her BMW scooter to the community. The draw took place in the Lisheen Golf club 8pm Sunday 1st December .The winner was Gary Doyle.The proceeds were shared with the school, and the remainder will go towards building a bridge over the river by the centre's front door
- Also on Dec 1st Senator Katherine Zappone turned on the Christmas lights in Brittas - many thanks to Katherine for giving us her time .
- Kilsaran quarry kindly donated our village Christmas tree , and Mick Byrne provided our tree for the community centre. Thank you.
- Great turnout at the Christmas social evening Nov 23rd in the Lisheen Springs Golf club - thank you for your support
Thanks to Tom Doyle's donation we now have lovely new carpet on the altar in the community centre
Many Thanks To Stephen Stewart from Tus and also Davey and Sean who have done a great job making Brittas look good all of 2013.Hopefully we will have this great resource for 2014.

Thank you to everyone that supported our BBQ and entertainment evening Friday 21st - it was a great turnout. Good to meet all our neighbours at a social evening! We are well on the way to fundraising 2013 running costs of the centre which is almost €3,300 per annum. This includes insurance costs, water rate charges, text event costs and the oil for heating the centre.
Thank you to everyone in the community that supported our scrap metal recycle day. We collected almost 13 tonnes of metal.
Well done to all the community workers that have helped St Martins primary school build a wonderful allotment in the centre grounds.
